ok you have been duely notified! Eight months, don't forget to place this on your calendar, drop out of school, tell the boss to shove it for this one because this will be the biggest startoff for next years convention season and we mean to end it with a HUGE BANG!!! If you miss this tournament you either can't afford to fly/drive out (I'm sorry) or don't love Dark Age enough!!! We are giving you no excuse to miss this event!!!
April 20-23 is the GTS here in Vegas, one of the gamers here in LV has contacted the Conquest group to run a gaming convention in conjunction with the GTS starting on April 18 through the 20th. What does this mean? Well for starters you GTS attendees do not have to leave the hotel, that's right Conquest Vegas is being held at Bally's and we are going to throw down on the Strip Dark Age style for our first Annual Player Appreciation Tournament!!!!! The tournament itself will be free, but you will have to pay to get into the Con, but ooh boy what we have in store for you guys!!!!!
- Fun, competetive never before seen tournament scenarios.
- More SWAG you can handle, well not really, but a lot. Hint the more people who show up the more generous we get.
- Door Prizes just for playing.
- Awards given out for various categories to include but not limited to Overall, Sportsman, Appearance.
- Most importantly be the first people to receive, for a nominal fee, an exclusive 2008 Convention LE figure. This LE mini will be available for sale at any major conventions we attend. BELIEVE ME YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS OUT ON THIS FIG!!!
Oh and like I said we are planning on ending the convention season with a BANG! at GenCon Indy, other companies may give you 15minutes of fame, we will Immortalize you!!!

How to get to Conquest:
Conquest is located in Bally's on Las Vegas Blvd, if you are coming from the airport just hop in a taxi and ask them to take you to Bally's. If you're driving in Bally's is on the corner of Las Vegas Blvd and Flamingo ave. The easiest way to get to the hotel parking is to get off of I-15 and head East on on Flamingo, stay in your right lane and cross over Las Vegas Blvd, you'll be making a right into the entrance of Bally's follow the signs to self parking, don't worry Paris and Bally's share the same Parking Garage. Once you're parked follow the signs to Bally's Casino, can't miss them. Once you are in Bally's head towards The Convention Center, the tournaments are held in the Skyview Conference Rooms 2&3 (where the Dealer Room is located)
Admission to the Con for one day is $25 two days is $45.
There is no charge for either tournaments and on the first day we plan to give out swag to the particpants of the tournament. We will be taking pre-orders for Johann from the people who show up. We are working on some surprises for those who attend.

Can we stick this thread so that it does not get lost over the next 8 months? _________________ "If you think you can or you think you can't, your right." Henry Ford |

Are the scenarios going to use the objective markers like xtreme did?
Does the Appearance award include points for these objective markers and or movement trays? Or just the paint job itself?
I tried to do the math and no matter how I looked at it that is only 6 1/2 months away. _________________ "If you think you can or you think you can't, your right." Henry Ford |

yeah should've put 7 instead of 8
Objective Markers will still be used, but the scenarios will differ slightly from the X'treme Scenarios. Nice looking objectives will help sway the judges:
Painted army without custom objective markers
Painted army with custom objective markers
both painted well and pretty much equal, the tie would go to the army with the extra effort _________________ Don't Mock the Site-Admin

As we get closer I will make a RSVP announcement. This will give us an idea of how much swag to give out, door prizes, etc. _________________ Don't Mock the Site-Admin

Are we still using 3 Objective Markers or should I be thinking about adding more?

"Strip Dark Age style" sounds awfully disturbing, BJ.
Please elaborate - is this a multi-day tourney? Several tournies? One?
More information is welcome for those of us sitting on the fence. Las Vegas is a plane ride, and you need an awfully exciting tourney for just a plane ride, sir.

More info please...what is GTS, where can I get more info on it?
I'm going to try to time a trip to visit relatives in Vegas for that weekend so I can come play. (Wife's relatives, that is)
One other comment...people have 8 months to paint their armies. How about saying painted minis ARE required? It would be very frustrating to make a big trip for a cool tournament and end up playing against 3 shiny metal armies. |

GTS is the "GAMA Trade Show".
(GAMA is the GAme Manufacturers Association)
Its the Professional Trade Show tied to Origins.
Not a public admittance show, its geared toward Manufacturers, Distributors, and Retailers. |

the PAT will be one day, starting around 10am and depending on the number of people who RSVP can be up to around 5 rounds of 1.5 hr each. Conquest Vegas is being run in conjunction with the GTS, which is yes a Distributor/Retailer show only (there are ways around that, but you didn't hear that from me)

I'm planning on attending GTS anyhows with the store, maybe I can convince Mike he goes to GTS that day and I go game... _________________ There are few things in this world that massive explosions can't solve. |

If it were up to me I would make it Painted Only, but I think there's a way to award those who do show up with painted vs unpainted. Thanks you for the feedback guys. Spread the word, there's no excuse for anyone that lives in a 200 mile radius not to hop in a car and show up. With GTS in town it would be easy to go in with a few friends to cut down the cost of a room. _________________ Don't Mock the Site-Admin

I am sure me and Maverickman will be there. We are going to be at GTS anyway and this is just an excuse to spend a couple more days in Vegas. |
