We promised we would give you the whole scoop on Leisa, the Chitin and here it is. All her background information, the new painted miniature and even her unique Unit Card all in one pretty article.
Leisa; One Chitin's Story, ~13.5 Meg.
The red sandy dunes deepened to a ruddy burgundy as the twilight faded. No artificial structures marred the stark serene emptiness of the Wasteland, which seemed to stretch out forever under the inky black canopy of night. Only the fluttering glow of a gigantic bonfire in the distant valley and the faint wafting echo of incessant, insistent music would warn any unfortunately desert traveller of the rare ritual taking place mere miles away. Approaching, one would find the scene of dark passion, death, and a rite of sacred passage.
Coming soon:
Groundwerks Base Inserts - Lava Slab
Skarrd Toxic Cult Faction Card Pack
Skarrd Toxic Father Curwen, the 'standard' miniature.

| | Thursday, 24 April | | April 2008 New Releases for April 2008:
DAG3027 Skarrd Leisa, Chitin - USD $7.99

Absolute silence descended, broken only by the hiss and pop of the firelight. Head high a lone Chitin crossed the campsite from among the gang of quiet hunters. Looking neither left nor right as the leaping flames reflected their fiery embers in her black pupils. As she passed, her former family dropped their heads in reverence. To those in attendance, the short advance seemed to stretch on late into the night. As she reached the presence of the elder, the slick dripping blood belied the indeterminately slow procession.
“I do not recognize you,” spat the tribe's Father, drawing his sword. He slashed faster than a ridge cat, pulling open her mouth and destroying her tongue. A gout of fresh red blood splattered on top of the fast drying brown of those who gave their lives earlier. He spun on his heel and strode away.
Mouth destroyed, she would never speak her own name in greeting to others again. In the fullness of time, she would complete her transformation, conclude her training among the Chitin, and once again walk among her people, and the other clans of the far flung Wastelands. All she needs to do is show the burned mess inside her mouth and all introductions become superfluous, her name is known by all: Leisa.
DAG1115 Forsaken Flense Warband - USD $24.99
The Flense Warband box contains 5 Flense figures. One of which is a Special Edition, available only in this box set.

| | Wednesday, 9 April | | New Green! Leisa, Chitin #2
She is among the most controversial of our miniature line. So many have commented on the sculpt...and we have listened.
Today you get to see Leisa, the Chitin. Obviously, you can use her as an alternate Chitin, not just as the Unique that she will be released as.

What's going to follow in the next few weeks are:
1. Her background fiction, to give you some insight as to who Leisa is and what made her.
2. The studio painted Leisa.
3. A scenario or battle report featuring Leisa. News | Posted by: DA_Pr0fane on 2008-04-09 16:52:32 |
| | | Tuesday, 19 February | | February Releases February releases are almost ready to ship. The official release date is Monday, February 25th. So please get your orders in as soon as you can so that we can prepare and ship out your orders as fast as we can.
If you have seen our last mailing, you would know that we are releasing our new Groundwerks Base insert line. Each set will have a common theme, and will be available in packages of 50mm (1), 40mm (2) and 30mm (3). The first set to be released is Ice Flat in white resin. They will be available next month in a clear aqua/blue resin as well. Those will be very popular amongst gamers and hobbyist because resin is very easy to work with and the way we designed them to fit on top of the base allows you to use your existing bases that come with your miniatures. You no longer have to worry about poor castings and incomplete casting on the actual base part. The reason we are stressing this is because resin casting is not a fast process, and it will help us prepare and gauge how many molds we have to make to keep up with production, so that we can better serve you.
In addition, we are releasing 2 Forsaken releases, this month, both belonging to the Saint John faction.
The Faithful unit box set will provide Forsaken Saint John players with a hard hitting, duel wielding, bone cracking unit that will surpass most other Forsakens in their ability to crush their enemies in close assault. Not to mention, the Special Edition female Faithful that is exclusive to this box set. An extra Special Edition unit card will be included in this box set featuring the female Faithful.
In anticipation of the up-coming Saint John 500 pv box set, we have specially sculpted 2 new Forsaken Haniel miniatures to better suit the look and feel of the Saint John army. One male and one female, both in dynamic poses, ready to unload their Disciples' Storm Gun on all that dare to cross their path.
Last but not least, is the Forsaken Saint Mark Faction Card Pack, containing all the unit cards plus the scenario cards for that faction. It is an all in one package, if you with multiple Saints, you can always pick up the other Saint and elite cards separately after you purchase this initial set.
February Release
DAG1041 Forsaken Haniel #2 (2) $9.99
DAG1117 Forsaken Faithful Warband Boxset (5) $24.99

DAG9301 Groundwerks Base Inserts - 30mm Ice Flat (3) $5.99
DAG9101 Forsaken Saint Mark Faction Card Pack (48 ) $24.99
What to expect in the up coming months? Each month, we should have at least 2 miniature releases, most likely one box set and one miniature release; 3 Groundwerks base insert releases and 1 Faction Card Pack. This schedule might get a little more aggressive as we get closer to the convention season.

| | Monday, 28 January | | GroundWerks Base Inserts Six years ago, Dark Age Games introduced its premium bases and they took the industry by storm. Countless companies now use our style of bases for their products. Now it's six years later and we are again ready to launch a brand new concept. Dark Age Games is proud to present Groundwerks, literally a groundbreaking new product!
There are no shortage of companies that make resin bases both for traditional style and premium bases. However, as a retail store, that doubles your inventory, as you have to carry both styles of bases. Experience has shown us that there is no real need to cast the entire base because, more often than not, the bottoms of the bases do not come out as consistent as plastic. Most importantly; it is far more affordable to purchase just the inserts and use the plastic bases that you have already paid for.
Groundwerks is the answer to hassle-free basing for miniatures. Groundwerks is a series of themed base inserts that fits inside our premium bases or on top of traditional round bases. Retail stores no longer have to carry 2 different sets of product to serve one purpose. Groundwerks is made out of high quality resin, which is easy to pin and modify. You have seen a lot of beautiful bases that look amazing, but with no thought given to how and where the miniature would fit on them. Groundwerks is designed with both form and function in mind.

We will be releasing one set each month starting with our February release. First set will be Groundwerks - Ice Flat, consisting of 3 sku #s, (1 x 50mm), (2 x 40mm) and (3 x 30mm) in each package.
Groundwerks - Ice Flat - February Release

DAG9301 3 x 30mm

Groundwerks - Industrial - March Release
DAG9502 1 x 50mm
DAG9402 2 x 40mm

| | | Monday, 7 January | | Dark Age in 2008 First we would like to thank all the fans and staff for a successful 2007. We were very well received in all the conventions that we attended. We enjoyed meeting everyone, putting a face to the forum names; meeting and greeting the people who just wanted to say "Hi!", to the misadvaentures of the Dark Age staff inteacting with their biggest fans.

* yes, that's me getting body slammed
The Dark Age line is growing at a steady pace with some outstanding products. We wish it could be faster, but we feel that the more time we take, the better quality products get to you! We now have 4 books published, Genesis, Exodus, Evolution and Essence. Total Sku # reaching almost 130 unique products.
What do we have up our sleeves for 2008... plenty!
First. We have been slowly upgrading our packaging in 2007 and with the new year, ALL blisters and box sets will now include their respective full color unit cards featuring studio painted miniatures. All blisters will have the unit card included as of this Friday. Faction card decks will not be available until later this year, but for now, individual unit cards can be purchased at the Dark Age on-line store. Retail stores and distributors can request these unit cards at a discounted price to upgrade their current stock by contacting sales@dark-age.com. This upgrade has been implemented in order to both provide players with the unit stat card which is essential to game play and to add to the aesthetic image and effectiveness of the packaging.
Amongst our several Boxed Sets, Saint Mark Warband Boxed Set has been one of our best sellers. We have two different warpacks for the Skarrd, Tribal and Toxic, as well as the fantastic Helexa Warhost Boxed set. In 2008, we plan to make available at least one themed set for each force. Expect to see a Saint John Warband, a Saint Mary Warband, and a couple of Dragyri Boxed Sets. All of these Sets will be around 500 pv, so you and your friends can play out of the box and swap in other troops as you increase your collection.
Also in the works is a 2 Player Starter Set - Discovery. This is a product that's been long over due. We need a stand alone product that acts as a gateway to the brutal World of Dark Age, complete with 2 opposing forces (Forsaken and Brood), unit cards, a conviently sized rule book, a pair of dice, tape measure and a reverseable play map to play the introductory full length scenarios included in the box set. This product will help beginners learn the mechanics of Dark Age in a fast and enjoyable manner.
The most exciting product of the year has to be our next publication - S.C.10. We have all played plenty of games where time just stood still. Not on Samaria! Starting from 2008, the Dark Age timeline will start to move forward. Instead of releasing more individual force books or expansions, the S.C. series will act as a compendium of sorts. In our first complilation we will be combining our weekly on-line articles, complete Dragyri Air Caste force list (feel the full wrath of Yovanka!), weather and terrain effects, scenarios, and special characters; putting it all in one compact book. Storyline changes will reflect in additional units, weapons and war machines. Force composition, availability, weapon stats might even change. In addition, you will also catch a glimse of up coming forces. Best thing is, most of the content is decided by player participation through tournaments and special events. All in all, an exciting and ground breaking publication not to be missed.
We will also be releasing a full line of scenic bases - GroundWerks. Expect to see a good variety of different style and size scenic bases to compliment your Dark Age miniature collection.
Dark Age will also be attending many conventions this year in North America, starting with Warfair, Conquest Vegas, GAMA, Kubla Con, Origins and Gen Con. Each location will have its own special events where participants are able to purchase the up coming Limited Edition Saint Johann miniature. Saint Johann will be able to field selected Forsaken and Skarrd units. He will be available to convention participants and special qualifying tournaments held throughout 2008.
In usual Dark Age fashion we will be on hand to run demos and the ever exciting Rumble in the Wasteland Tournament series and X'Treme! tournaments. To cap off the convention season at Gen Con Indy we will hold a special X'Treme tournament: X'Treme Immortal. This one is not to be missed. Other games may make you famous for a moment, we will Immortalize you! The winner of the X'Treme Immortal tournament will have the proud pleasure to work hand in hand with the Dark Age Developement team and have a playable, tournament legal minature made after them, this will be a Limited Edition minature available to all for the following year. Just imagine being a part of Table Top history, Immortalized in pewter!
All this of course come with a price. Effective end of this week, we will be announcing a modest price increase. We have been trying to hold off for as long as we could, in fact our first real price increse in 6 years; but with pewter price sky rocketing, the weak dollar, inflation and the inclusion of the full color unit card in each blister and box set, we have to adjust our prices to make sure that we can afford to continue our quest to bring our fans the best possible products. Most of the noticible price increase will be for our bigger models. Rest assure that Dark Age will still remain affordable.
We will also be trimming the catalog a bit to put some of the older duplicate sculpts that move slower onto the archive catalog. They will still be available on request, but will not be on the main catalog anymore to make sure stores and distributors have our fastest moving products on their shelves. The list will be available shortly.
This is just a quick summary of what to expect. We will have individual press releases as we have more information on each of the products mentioned above. We are very excited about 2008 and we hope you are too. Are you ready for something dangerous? I know we are! News | Posted by: DA_Grafter on 2008-01-07 09:36:48 |
| | Monday, 31 December | | New Article!

In most of the North American part of the world it's New Year's Eve and cause for celebration. But to REALLY give you something to get excited about, we have another Dark Age article for you!
Background - Deathstryke!
Deathstryke stands alone even among the elite Banger troops under Saint John’s Southern Crusade. Dark melancholy binds him, keeping apart from his fellow Forsaken. Quiet and withdrawn, Deathstryke oft seeks solitude even in battle, finding himself alone on the enemies’ flank. It is then he shows his true potential as a virtuoso on the battlefield. Preternatural timing and phenomenal accuracy belie the memories haunting his wounded soul.
